The road to Shannen Shannon
It all started with “A pint of Guinness, please”
One Friday night in October 2016, Craig and Noel popped into the pub for a quiet drink and from there, it turned into every Friday night for months.
This love story was never conventional. Craig never actually asked Shannen out - his dad did, after a few drinks, while Craig hid in the background trying to avoid the embarrassment. Somehow… it worked.
Things were going great - until Shannen packed her bags and moved to the other side of the world. But distance didn’t stop the late-night FaceTimes (usually after a few drinks), with Craig booking taxis for Shannen in Perth and Sydney… all the way from Rathangan.
Fast forward 18 months - July rolls around and Shannen comes home. Craig, a nervous wreck, sees her for the first time back in The Burrow (where all good love stories begin). Sparks flew again. By October, Craig was finally promoted from “not-really-a-boyfriend” to actual boyfriend.
Then came Covid.
Craig swiftly moved into Shannen’s family home - but with five people, one bathroom, and a nationwide lockdown they did what anyone would do - moved. They renovated Shannen’s Nana’s house and made it their own.
With the house sorted, the travel bug bit.
They set off on the adventure of a lifetime — from safaris in Sri Lanka, night markets in Malaysia, and the bright lights of Singapore… to the east coast of Australia, New Year’s in Sydney with their sisters, a road trip through their favourite place, New Zealand, and the magic of Central America.
And then came the big moment.
On a tiny island in Nicaragua, Craig mustered the courage to propose. It was scenic, a little chaotic (true to form), and involved some excellent pizza. They raced back to a volcano-side hotel on a moped, orange skies overhead - and Shannen said yes, of course.
And that’s why you’re here — to celebrate with us in July 2026.
It’s been a journey across 25 countries, filled with unforgettable memories and incredible people — many of whom will be celebrating with us on our big day.
We can’t wait to see you there and make even more memories together.

Join us the night before the wedding at the Atlantic Piano Bar from 6pm.
It’ll be a relaxed evening – the perfect chance for everyone to meet, catch up, ask any last-minute questions, and of course enjoy a couple of drinks to settle the nerves.
